Classic Sloppy Joes meet your Dutch Oven in this Dutch Oven Sloppy Joes Recipe that makes it all in a dump-style recipe. If you’re really into Sloppy Joes be sure to adjust the spices rather than use the pre-packaged seasoning mix.
A great combination of meat, spice, and bun all in a Dutch Oven.
- 3 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 3/4 cups water
- 3 6 oz cans of tomato paste
- 3 pkg dry Sloppy Joe seasoning mix
- 4 cups biscuit mix
- 1 1/3 cups water
Preheat the Dutch Oven
Place beef and onion in the oven to brown the meat
Add tomato paste, 3 3/4 cups water, seasoning, and stir
Cover and bring to a simmer
Simmer for 10 minutes
In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix, and 1 1/3 cups water to make a soft dough
Drop dough by spoonfuls onto the simmering Sloppy Joe mixture
Cover and bake until dough is golden brown, or until a toothpick comes out clean
Standard heat. Feel free to swap out the seasoning mix for your own blend.
